Changing of the Egyptian Guard


Clay Bennett penned this ingenious "Egpyt" cartoon today in the Chattanooga Times Free Press:


What I think Bennett is saying in the above cartoon* is that the young people of Egypt who rallied for democracy should be wary of those with ulterior motives who might try hijack the freedom they fought for.

The young men in the white shirts certainly look concerned when they see a couple of old bearded guys wearing turbans and robes, trying to heft their own capstone onto the pyramid's peak.

On a more universal note, I think the comic reminds people all over the world what is and what is not a true revolution for the betterment of people in the Middle East.
