Olympic Protesters, Police Manage Peaceful Rally

Some 2000 protesters marched through the streets of Vancouver and stood toe-to-toe with a human barricade of police bodies and mounted officers at the BC Place perimeter. An egg was thrown, some traffic pylons were pushed overhead into police lines and several wooden poles were yanked out of protesters' hands up front. Police officers did not react with force. Some pushing and posturing ensued between protesters and police on the front lines, but the crowd began to disperse after a few hours.

This was an exciting event to cover as a citizen journalist. I shot a couple hours video, stay tuned for my YouTube highlight reel.

Yes after the events at Whistler earlier in the day it was indeed good to see that the protest went off reasonably well BUT I am sure some of the hard core will try and spin it differently.

Will look forward to seeing your citizens video

Thanks for the update on what went on at the protest. Refreshing to read a concise, in-a-nutshell description of the evening - there's been such a lot of hype and much-ado-about nothing mainstream, commerical media coverage going on, and on, and on, that it's all starting to sound like blah, blah, blah, blah...m

Dennis, I deleted your comment here because it was an off-topic rant and disrespectful to my blog. You have your own blog, please use it sir.

Sorry about that - was wondering where it had gone - I can get emotional about some issues and I have been known to cross the line as they say - will try to post relevant in the future.
