Follow Me, Lioudmila Kortchaguina!

Volunteering for the Vancouver Marathon Cycle Escort Team this year was absolutely thrilling.

nice legs LK!

Lioudmila Kortchaguina took the early lead and won the woman's half marathon as I led her through the course on my bike, doing my part for the Cycle Escort Team. Watching her strong performance from up close was amazing. From the start, she maintained a powerful pace and finished with a time of 1:17:11, averaging about 16km/h. I had to ride hard to stay ahead of her on the hill up to Prospect Point!

Being part of the Marathon Cycle Escort Team was an awesome experience. I met some great new friends; we had tons of fun together. On race day we were treated to an insider's view of the marathon and the awe-inspiring runners who push the limits of human power and endurance. I am left with many fond memories that will last a lifetime, and plan to do it again next year!
